White truffles have fascinated people for thousands of years. Their attraction is a tantalizing taste and aroma which, once experienced, can never be forgotten .
They have been collected for at least 3600 years. growing underground, they are difficult to find and very expensive as a result.
Truffles are found growing 3-12 inches among the roots of oak, chestnusts and beech trees.
The truffles we import come from Piedmont, Italy, wich is the richest area for high quality truffles and nowadays worldwide known.
Here hunters take their specialty trained dogs to the woods, to sniff out and dig up these fragrant and expensive delicacies.
Truffles are roundish, light brown and dirty when they come out of the ground.
The taste and aroma of truffles is so intense that they are used as a flavoring instead of separate dish. Magical powers and virtues have even been attributed to truffles. During the Roman Empire the product was considered afrodisiac.
The white truffles (tuber magnatum pico)is only used raw; you do not cook it, instead you shave it very thin (with truffle shaver) on dishes like pasta, risotto, eggs, meats and others.
Look for recipes.
To clean and to get the truffle ready to use, wash it under running cold water from the faucet with a brush and make sure to eliminate all the dirt that appears on the surface of the truffle. Dry it with a paper towel and it's ready to use.
Fresh white truffles are sold by the ounces and to place an order you have to give us an about weight (like 1oz, 2oz, etc...).

For your information this product is subjected to natural weight loss, that should not exceed 2% of original weight at time of shipment.
We guarantee the quality and if the product does not satisfy your needs and you want to ship back, it will be at your expenses and the product has to be in the same conditions we shipped it, which means you did not cut or damaged it in any way.
The return has to be overnight only and we have to receive it the day after you received the shipment. |
